What are fillers and how do they slow aging?

Fillers are just as the name suggests, they fill hollow areas of the face non surgically . There are four types: autologous, collagen, hyaluronic acid, and calcium base. Autologous involves fat grafting and harvesting. Collagen is derived from cows and rarely used. Hyaluronic acid fillers naturally occur in human skin and they bind with water to five the skin volume and maintain its elasticity. Its concentration in the skin decreases with aging.

RSA uses Juviderm, Restylane, and Perlane. The calcium base filler is Radiesse and it lasts longer than Juviderm, Restylane, and Perlane. It is also suitable for large volume filling. They are used to correct nasolabial folds, lip augmentation, scar correction, and cheek filling. The effects last from six months to three years depending on the product used. RSA uses the needling procedure at a 15 degree angle. Stay away from silicone fillers because if the practitioner messes up, there is no way to correct it since silicone is permanent and there is no way to remove it. The fillers mentioned above are temporary therefore if the practitioner messes up, in a few months it will correct itself. A silicone error can create asymmetry of the face, humping and other damage. RSA will not treat anyone with permanent damage and asymmetry caused by fillers such as silicone.

The analogy RSA will use to explain how the fillers work is to put away a fresh plum for about two weeks. When you retrieve it you might not recognize it because it will now look like a prune. But if you inject fluid into it will become plump again- that is how fillers work and the result is immediate.
