Geri graduated in the 80s from CCNY and became an educator in the NYC Department of Education. After earning her MA degree in education she still felt there was something missing artistically, so she attended Robert Fiance Beauty School at night and received a license in cosmetology.

Late afternoons after a full day at a High School in the Bronx, Geri would cut men's hair at a barbershop in Harlem. Though her fulfillment as a barber on the side enriched her life extensively, she still needed to teach to pay the bills. As her career in the Department of Education waned, Geri began to seriously consider the aesthetics path.

While working on the Pediatric Unit at Jacobi Hospital, she befriended some nurses who encouraged her to go back to school for nursing. As she deliberated over the issue, she realized she could combine her experience as a cosmetologist with nursing to become a Nurse Aesthetician. She also discovered during her nursing course of study that the nurse functions as the key educator, bridging the gap between doctor and client.

Geri's subsequent training with Dr.Fathi Fam as a Medical Aesthetic Provider utilized her knowledge of the nursing process: Assessment, Diagnosis, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation.

When a client first meets Geri, she starts with an initial assessment to establish a complete database for problem identification and care planning.  As data is gathered, she moves to the second stage - a focused assessment about the specific problem that has already been identified. A nursing diagnosis is then established through exchange and perception of the human response pattern. Geri and the client agree to a plan of action and a time-lapsed assessment is then used to compare the client's subsequent status to baseline data obtained earlier. Finally, an evaluation toward the end of treatment will determine whether further treatment is necessary.

Geri's clients will benefit greatly from a nurse aesthetician who comes with a wealth of experience and skills in communication, teaching, and management.

Geri traveled all the way to Beijing China in February 2010- "the year of the Tiger" and how fitting that she wore her faux Tiger winter coat in search of authentic Lace front wigs for her clients. She is photographed with her interpreter and business partner.
